Top-Rated Smog & Emissions Services
What Happens During a Smog Check
During your car smog check, the Twin Peaks Auto Service team will first conduct a visual inspection of the system. Our mechanics check for problems with emissions components, as well as an onboard diagnostics (OBD) scan for newer vehicles. Your emissions system comprises the exhaust manifold, catalytic converter, oxygen sensors, emission control valves, and the evaporative emission control (EVAP) system. All of these things will be addressed during your smog check, and we are ready for repairs or replacements during our regular weekday hours. Luckily, most new vehicles do not have major smog checks or requirements for several years, and pre-owned vehicles might benefit if you notice smog, or it has been longer than two years.
Stay Within State Standards
California state standards require drivers to schedule the occasional smog check, and we are the right team to ensure this is done correctly. One of the main reasons states like California have smog and emissions testing is to keep the air around us cleaner. The more vehicles that are repaired for emissions system defects means less carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere, and it takes all of us to make this a reality. That is why Twin Peaks Auto Service has continued to be a leader in this space since opening in 1999. Our mission has always been to give you a clear outline of what your car, truck, or SUV needs to be within legal standards, and we use cutting-edge equipment and technology to complete these smog check appointments. Walk-ins are also an option from Tue – Fri: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Most Saturdays 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM weekly, so please do not be shy about coming in and seeing us.
